- 6 cups fresh apples, peeled and sliced
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup brown sugar, packed
- 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
- 1/2 cup old-fashioned oats
Instructions
- Peel, core, and slice about 6 cups of apples.
- Toss them in a bowl with lemon juice, granulated sugar, 1 tbsp flour, 1 tsp cinnamon, and nutmeg. Spread this mixture into a greased 9×9 dish.
- In another bowl, mix the remaining flour, brown sugar, oats, 1/2 tsp cinnamon, and salt. Cut in the cold butter until the mixture is crumbly.
- Sprinkle the topping evenly over the apples.
- Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 40–45 minutes until the cobbler is bubbly and golden.
- Let it cool for 10 minutes. Serve warm with ice cream or whipped cream.
