- 4 slices sourdough or Italian bread
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup sliced pepperoni
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
- 1/4 cup pizza sauce for dipping
Instructions
- Preheat a skillet over medium heat (about 350°F).
- Spread 1 tablespoon of softened butter on one side of each slice of bread.
- Place two slices of bread, buttered side down, in the skillet.
- Evenly distribute the mozzarella cheese and pepperoni on top of the bread in the skillet.
- Top with the remaining slices of bread, buttered side up.
- Cook for 3-4 minutes until the bottom is golden brown and the cheese begins to melt.
- Carefully flip the sandwiches and cook for another 3-4 minutes until the other side is golden and the cheese is fully melted.
- Remove from the skillet and let cool for 1 minute before slicing in half.
