A delicious and easy dessert that combines the flavors of classic pecan pie with a buttery cake layer.

- 1.5 cups chopped pecans (toasted if desired)
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 0.5 cup light corn syrup
- 3 large eggs (lightly beaten)
- 0.5 cup unsalted butter (melted)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 box (15.25 oz) yellow cake mix (do not prepare the mix)
- 0.75 cup unsalted butter (melted)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- Combine the chopped pecans, brown sugar, corn syrup, eggs, 0.5 cup melted butter, and vanilla extract in a medium bowl.
- Pour the pecan pie mixture into the prepared baking dish and spread it into an even layer.
- Sprinkle the dry yellow cake mix evenly over the top of the pecan filling. Do not stir.
- Drizzle the remaining 0.75 cup melted butter over the dry cake mix.
- Bake for 45-55 minutes, until the topping is golden brown and the filling is bubbly and set.
- Let the cake cool for at least 15 minutes before serving.
Notes
Serve warm with vanilla ice cream for an extra special treat.
