- 2 slices of sourdough bread
- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
- 4 ounces Gouda cheese, sliced
- 1 ripe pear, thinly sliced
- 1 tablespoon honey
Instructions
- Heat a skillet over medium heat.
- Spread butter on one side of each slice of sourdough bread.
- Place one slice, butter-side down, in the skillet.
- Layer the Gouda cheese and pear slices on top of the bread.
- Drizzle honey over the pears.
- Top with the second slice of bread, butter-side up.
- Cook until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted, about 3-4 minutes per side.
- Remove from heat, slice, and enjoy!
Notes
Use ripe but firm pears and thin slices for best results. Optionally, add caramelized onions or mix cheeses for variation.
