Description

A warm and delightful sandwich featuring melted Gouda, ripe pear, and a touch of honey, perfect for lunch or a quick dinner.


Ingredients

  • 2 slices of sourdough bread
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • 4 ounces Gouda cheese, sliced
  • 1 ripe pear, thinly sliced
  • 1 tablespoon honey

Instructions

  1. Heat a skillet over medium heat.
  2. Spread butter on one side of each slice of sourdough bread.
  3. Place one slice, butter-side down, in the skillet.
  4. Layer the Gouda cheese and pear slices on top of the bread.
  5. Drizzle honey over the pears.
  6. Top with the second slice of bread, butter-side up.
  7. Cook until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted, about 3-4 minutes per side.
  8. Remove from heat, slice, and enjoy!

Notes

Use ripe but firm pears and thin slices for best results. Optionally, add caramelized onions or mix cheeses for variation.
