Description

Delicious and easy-to-make Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Bars that combine creamy peanut butter and rich chocolate for a satisfying treat.


Ingredients

  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • â…“ cup peanut butter, heaping
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 cup light brown sugar, packed
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 2 tablespoons chocolate chips, for topping

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8×8-inch baking pan with foil or parchment, leaving an overhang for easy lifting.
  2. Melt the butter in a large mixing bowl and let it cool slightly.
  3. Whisk together the peanut butter, brown sugar, egg, and vanilla into the melted butter until smooth.
  4. Sprinkle flour and salt over the mixture and stir gently until no dry streaks remain.
  5. Fold in 1 cup of chocolate chips.
  6. Spread the batter evenly in the prepared pan and smooth the top. Sprinkle remaining chocolate chips on top.
  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes, until edges are set and the center is slightly soft.
  8. Allow cooling in the pan for at least 30 minutes before lifting out, slicing into squares, and serving.

Notes

To store, keep in an airtight container at room temperature for 3-4 days. Refrigerate for up to a week or freeze for up to 3 months.
