Description

Creamy, tangy, and irresistibly smooth, this ono Hawaiian BBQ macaroni salad recipe brings island plate-lunch flavor straight to your table.

Ingredients

Scale

1 lb elbow macaroni

2 cups Best Foods mayonnaise

1/4 cup whole milk

2 tbsp apple cider vinegar

2 medium carrots, shredded

1/4 cup grated yellow onion (optional)

1 ½ tsp sugar

Salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions

1. Cook macaroni until very soft (1–2 minutes beyond al dente).

2. Rinse with cold water and let it drain.

3. Mix warm pasta with vinegar, carrots, and onion.

4. Whisk mayonnaise, milk, and sugar in a bowl.

5. Add mayo mixture to pasta and stir well.

6. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

7. Refrigerate at least 4 hours before serving.

8. Stir before serving; refresh with milk or mayo if needed.

Notes

Use only Best Foods or Hellmann’s mayo for the right texture and flavor.

Letting it rest overnight improves the taste dramatically.
