Description

Crispy and flavorful onion ring chips that are easy to make at home, perfect for snacking or as a side dish.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 large onions
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs (panko preferred)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Slice the onions into thin rings and gently separate the rings.
  2. Prepare the flour mixture by mixing all-purpose flour, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
  3. Dredge the onion rings in the flour mixture, ensuring each ring is well coated.
  4. Heat sufficient oil in a frying pan over medium heat until hot.
  5. Fry the onion rings in batches for about 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown and crispy.
  6. Drain on paper towels to remove excess oil and serve warm.

Notes

For variation, try adding cayenne pepper for heat or Parmesan cheese for a cheesy flavor.
