- 2 cups basmati rice
- 1 lb chicken thighs, cut into pieces
- 1 onion, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cups chicken broth
- 2 tablespoons shawarma spice mix
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat.
- Add chopped onion and garlic and sauté until softened, about 2-3 minutes.
- Stir in the chicken pieces and season with shawarma spice mix, salt, and pepper. Cook until the chicken is browned, approximately 5-7 minutes.
- Add the rice to the pot and stir to combine with the chicken and spices.
- Pour in the chicken broth and bring to a boil.
- Reduce heat, cover, and simmer for about 20 minutes, or until the rice is cooked and the liquid is absorbed.
- Fluff the rice with a fork and garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
