A comforting and flavorful one-pot meal featuring smoked sausage, creamy orzo, and aromatic garlic, perfect for weeknight dinners.
Ingredients

- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 pound smoked sausage (like kielbasa), sliced
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 1/2 cups orzo pasta
- 3 cups chicken broth
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
- Salt and black pepper to taste
Instructions
- Heat the olive oil in a large pot or Dutch oven over medium-high heat.
- Add the sliced sausage and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Remove and set aside.
- In the same pot, add the chopped onion and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
- Add the minced garlic and sauté for another minute.
- Add the orzo pasta and stir to coat it in the drippings.
- Pour in the chicken broth, bring to a boil, then cover and simmer for 10-12 minutes until the orzo is al dente.
- Stir in the heavy cream and Parmesan cheese, then return the sausage to the pot and cook for another 2-3 minutes until heated through.
- Stir in chopped parsley and season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Serve hot and enjoy!
Notes
Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3-4 days. Reheat with a splash of chicken broth if needed.
