Description
A quick and easy creamy dish with Cajun flavors and orzo, made in just one pot.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup orzo
- 1 pound boneless skinless chicken breasts, diced
- 2 tablespoons Cajun seasoning
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 2 cups chicken broth
- 1 cup Parmesan cheese
Instructions
- Prepare the chicken: Start by dicing the boneless skinless chicken breasts into bite-sized pieces.
- Heat the pot: In a large pot or skillet over medium heat, add a little oil. Once hot, add the diced chicken.
- Season the chicken: Sprinkle the Cajun seasoning over the chicken and stir well. Cook for about 5-7 minutes until the chicken is no longer pink.
- Add the orzo: Once the chicken is cooked, pour in the orzo and mix it with the chicken for 1-2 minutes.
- Pour in the liquids: Next, pour in the heavy cream and chicken broth. Stir everything together and bring it to a gentle boil.
- Simmer: Lower the heat, cover the pot, and let it simmer for about 10-12 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Cheese it up: After 10-12 minutes, once the orzo is cooked, remove the pot from heat and stir in the Parmesan cheese until melted and creamy.
- Serve and enjoy: Your One-Pot Cajun Chicken Alfredo Orzo is now ready! Serve hot.
Notes
For a vegetarian option, substitute chicken with vegetables and use vegetable broth. Adjust the spice level according to your taste.
