This Okra Stuffed with Spices Telugu Recipe is an authentic South Indian dish with tender okra filled with a fragrant spice blend, ready in just 30 minutes.
Ingredients
500g fresh okra
3 tablespoons oil
2 tablespoons gram flour (besan)
1 teaspoon red chili powder
1 teaspoon coriander powder
1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
1 teaspoon cumin powder
Salt to taste
1 teaspoon garam masala
1 tablespoon dried coconut powder (optional)
Instructions
1. Wash and pat dry okra, then slit lengthwise without cutting through.
2. Mix gram flour, chili powder, coriander, turmeric, cumin, salt, garam masala, and coconut powder.
3. Stuff each okra with the spice mix.
4. Heat oil in a wide pan and arrange okra in a single layer.
5. Cook on medium heat for 8–10 minutes, turning occasionally.
6. Serve hot with rice, chapati, or paratha.
Notes
Patting okra dry before cooking helps reduce sliminess.
You can prepare the spice mix ahead and store for up to a month.
