Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt until well combined.
  3. In a separate bowl, beat the softened butter and granulated sugar together until light and fluffy (about 3-4 minutes).
  4. Add the large egg, buttermilk, red food coloring, and vanilla extract to the butter and sugar mixture. Beat until well incorporated.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture and mix until just combined.
  6. Gently fold in mini chocolate chips with a spatula.
  7. Scoop out dough with a tablespoon and drop onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving space for spreading.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until edges are crispy and centers are soft.
  9. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
