- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) instant yeast
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 3/4 cup milk, warmed
- 1 large egg
- 2 tbsp butter, melted
- Nutella for filling
- Oil for frying
- Powdered sugar for dusting
Instructions
- Combine the flour, sugar, yeast, and salt in a bowl.
- Whisk together the warmed milk, egg, and melted butter in another bowl.
- Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients.
- Mix until a dough starts to form; add more flour if it’s too sticky.
- Knead the dough for about 5-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise until doubled, about 1 hour.
- Turn out the dough onto a floured surface and roll out to 1/2 inch thick.
- Cut into circles and let them rise again for 30 minutes.
- Heat oil in a deep pan to 350°F (175°C).
- Fry the donuts until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side.
- Fill each donut with Nutella using a piping bag.
- Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
