Description

A simple and flavorful no knead cheese bread, perfect for any occasion.


Ingredients

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon instant yeast
  • 1 1/2 cups lukewarm water
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or your choice)
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh herbs (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, salt, and instant yeast.
  2. Add the lukewarm water and mix until a shaggy dough forms.
  3. Fold in the shredded cheese and herbs, if using.
  4. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and let it rest at room temperature for 12 to 18 hours, until the surface is dotted with bubbles.
  5. Preheat the oven to 450°F (230°C) and place a Dutch oven inside to heat.
  6. Once preheated, carefully remove the Dutch oven, and place the dough inside (you can shape it if desired).
  7. Cover with the lid and bake for 30 minutes.
  8. After 30 minutes, remove the lid and bake for an additional 15 minutes until golden brown.
  9. Let the bread cool on a rack before slicing and enjoy.

Notes

For variety, experiment with different cheeses and herbs, or try adding cooked vegetables.
