Description
These cherry caramel extract balls are small, sweet bites that mix fruit and caramel in one easy treat. They are soft inside and dusted in powdered sugar.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup cherry puree
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter
- 1/2 cup caramel sauce
- 1 teaspoon cherry extract
- 1/4 cup chopped nuts (optional)
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar (for rolling)
- Pinch of salt
Instructions
- In a saucepan, combine cherry puree, granulated sugar, and butter over medium heat. Stir until the mixture is smooth and begins to boil.
- Remove from heat and stir in caramel sauce, cherry extract, and salt.
- Let the mixture cool slightly.
- If using, fold in chopped nuts.
- Use your hands to form small balls from the mixture.
- Roll each ball in powdered sugar to coat.
- Place on a parchment-lined tray and refrigerate until set.
- Serve cold or at room temperature. Enjoy!
Notes
Keep your hands slightly damp or lightly greased when forming the balls to stop the mixture from sticking. If the mix gets too sticky, chill it for 10–15 minutes and try again.
