Description
A rich and fluffy chocolate layer cake filled with creamy peanut butter and topped with silky chocolate ganache.

- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 cup boiling water
- 1 cup creamy peanut butter
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 8 ounces semisweet chocolate, chopped
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease and flour three 9-inch round cake pans.
- Mix together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt until well blended.
- Add the eggs, milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients and mix until smooth.
- Carefully stir in the boiling water. The batter will be thin.
- Pour the batter into the prepared cake pans and bake for 30-35 minutes.
- Cool the cakes in the pans for about 10 minutes, then transfer to wire racks to cool completely.
- Beat the creamy peanut butter and heavy cream until light and fluffy for the filling.
- Spread the filling between the layers of cake.
- Heat the heavy cream in a saucepan until simmering, then pour over the chopped chocolate and stir until smooth to make ganache.
- Pour the ganache over the top of the cake, allowing it to drip down the sides.
- Slice and enjoy!
Notes
For the best flavor, serve with coffee or a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
