Ingredients

- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1/4 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup chopped pecans, toasted
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups milk chocolate chips
Instructions
- In a saucepan, combine sugar, butter, and heavy cream over medium heat. Stir until the mixture comes to a boil, then let it boil for 5 minutes without stirring.
- Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract and salt.
- Fold in the toasted pecans.
- Pour the mixture into a greased 9×9 inch baking dish and let it cool completely.
- Once cooled, melt the milk chocolate chips in a microwave or double boiler.
- Pour the melted chocolate over the cooled caramel and spread it evenly.
- Allow the chocolate to set, then cut into squares and serve.
