- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2/3 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon matcha green tea powder
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
- In a heatproof bowl, melt the butter and chocolate chips together until smooth. Let cool slightly.
- Add granulated sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract to the chocolate mixture, whisking until combined.
- Fold in the all-purpose flour and salt until just incorporated.
- In a separate bowl, beat cream cheese and sugar until smooth. Add egg, flour, matcha powder, and vanilla; mix until smooth.
- Spread 2/3 of the brownie batter in the pan, dollop with matcha cheesecake mixture, and top with remaining brownie batter.
- Use a skewer or knife to swirl the mixtures gently.
- Bake for 35 minutes until the edges are set and the center is slightly jiggly. Cool completely in the pan.
- Lift out using the parchment and cut into squares to serve.
Notes
Use high-quality matcha for better flavor. Don’t overmix the batter to avoid tough brownies.
