Description

Delicious brownies swirled with creamy matcha cheesecake for a unique flavor combination.


Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2/3 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon matcha green tea powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a heatproof bowl, melt the butter and chocolate chips together until smooth. Let cool slightly.
  3. Add granulated sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract to the chocolate mixture, whisking until combined.
  4. Fold in the all-purpose flour and salt until just incorporated.
  5. In a separate bowl, beat cream cheese and sugar until smooth. Add egg, flour, matcha powder, and vanilla; mix until smooth.
  6. Spread 2/3 of the brownie batter in the pan, dollop with matcha cheesecake mixture, and top with remaining brownie batter.
  7. Use a skewer or knife to swirl the mixtures gently.
  8. Bake for 35 minutes until the edges are set and the center is slightly jiggly. Cool completely in the pan.
  9. Lift out using the parchment and cut into squares to serve.

Notes

Use high-quality matcha for better flavor. Don’t overmix the batter to avoid tough brownies.
