Description
Marzipankartoffeln, also known as German marzipan potatoes, are cocoa-dusted almond paste treats made for the holidays. These festive sweets look like little potatoes but deliver a rich marzipan flavor in every bite.
Ingredients
200 g marzipan (almond paste)
50 g powdered sugar (or sugar-free alternative for keto version)
1 tsp almond extract (optional)
3–4 tbsp cocoa powder (for dusting)
Instructions
1. Knead marzipan and powdered sugar until smooth.
2. Add almond extract for stronger flavor (optional).
3. Roll small pieces into walnut-sized balls.
4. Dust the marzipan balls in cocoa powder until coated.
5. Store in a tin or airtight container for a few hours before serving.
Notes
Marzipankartoffeln can be made keto by swapping sugar for a low-carb sweetener.
Best stored in a cool, dry place for up to 2 weeks.
Traditionally served during Christmas in Germany.
Pairs well with coffee, tea, or hot chocolate.
