Description

Ingredients

  • 1 cup corn syrup
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon flavoring (like vanilla or mint)
  • Food coloring (optional)
  • Powdered sugar (for dusting)

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, combine the sugar, corn syrup, and water over medium heat.
  2. Stir gently until the sugar dissolves completely, then bring the mixture to a boil.
  3. Allow the mixture to boil without stirring until it reaches 300°F (hard crack stage).
  4. Carefully remove from heat and stir in flavoring and food coloring if desired.
  5. Pour the hot candy mixture onto a greased baking sheet or silicone mat.
  6. Allow the candy to cool completely before breaking it into pieces.
  7. Dust the pieces with powdered sugar to prevent sticking.

Notes

Store in an airtight container at room temperature. Separate layers with parchment paper to avoid sticking.
