Description

Delicious macarons with a crisp exterior and chewy interior, perfect for dessert tables or a special treat.


Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups sweetened shredded coconut
  • 1 cup sweetened condensed milk
  • 2 large egg whites
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (160°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the coconut, sweetened condensed milk, vanilla extract, and salt. Stir until the coconut is evenly coated.
  3. In a separate clean bowl, beat egg whites on medium-high speed until soft peaks form.
  4. Fold one-third of the egg whites into the coconut mixture, then add the remaining egg whites and gently fold until just combined.
  5. Drop mounds of the mixture onto the baking sheet, leaving an inch of space between each.
  6. Bake for 18-22 minutes until golden brown.
  7. Cool completely on a wire rack.

Notes

Store macarons in an airtight container at room temperature for a few days or freeze with parchment paper between layers.
