Description

A comforting blend of classic mac and cheese and hearty burgers, perfect for chilly evenings.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 4 cups beef broth
  • 2 cups elbow macaroni
  • 1 cup diced tomatoes (canned or fresh)
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon dijon mustard
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 2 cups sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • Chopped green onions for garnish
  • Optional: crumbled bacon for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a large pot or Dutch oven, brown the ground beef over medium heat until fully cooked and drain excess grease.
  2. Add diced onion and sauté for 3-4 minutes until translucent.
  3. Stir in minced garlic and cook for an additional minute.
  4. Pour in beef broth and diced tomatoes, add Worcestershire sauce and dijon mustard, and mix well.
  5. Heat until boiling, then stir in elbow macaroni.
  6. Reduce heat and let simmer for about 8-10 minutes, or until macaroni is tender.
  7. Add salt, black pepper, and smoked paprika, stirring to incorporate flavors.
  8. Lower heat, stir in shredded cheddar cheese until melted and creamy.
  9. Pour in heavy cream, stir well and heat through for another couple of minutes.
  10. Serve hot in bowls, garnished with chopped green onions and optional crumbled bacon.
