Description

Layered Cracker Bars are a delightful treat that combines a crunchy, salty base with rich caramel, chocolate, and butterscotch chips.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 box of saltine crackers
  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1 cup butterscotch chips
  • Maldon sea salt for sprinkling

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and arrange a single layer of saltine crackers over the parchment.
  3. In a saucepan, melt the butter and brown sugar together over medium heat, stirring until combined. Bring to a boil for 3 minutes, stirring constantly.
  4. Pour the caramel mixture evenly over the saltine crackers.
  5. Bake in the oven for 5-7 minutes until bubbly.
  6. Remove from oven and immediately sprinkle chocolate chips and butterscotch chips on top.
  7. Let the bars cool for a few minutes, then use a spatula to spread the melted chips evenly.
  8. Sprinkle Maldon sea salt over the top.
  9. Allow to cool completely before cutting into bars.
