Scale
  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 1 tablespoon canola oil
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 3 green onions, thinly sliced
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
  • 1/4 cup packed brown sugar (light or dark)
  • 1/4 cup low sodium soy sauce
  • 2 teaspoons sesame oil

  1. Whisk together brown sugar, soy sauce, sesame oil, red pepper flakes, ground ginger, and cornstarch in a small bowl.
  2. Heat canola oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  3. Add the ground beef and cook until browned, about 3-5 minutes.
  4. Drain off excess fat and return to stove.
  5. Add minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  6. Pour the prepared sauce over the beef, stir well, and let it simmer for 2-3 minutes.
