Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C) and pat the brisket dry.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, and brown sugar. Generously coat the brisket with this rub.
- Place the seasoned brisket in a roasting pan and pour ½ cup of water or beef broth into the bottom. Cover tightly with aluminum foil and cook for 5-6 hours until fork-tender.
- Remove the brisket from the oven and let it rest for 15-20 minutes before shredding or slicing it into bite-sized pieces.
- Return the shredded brisket to the roasting pan or a large bowl, pour in 1 ½ cups of BBQ sauce, and toss to coat evenly.
- If the brisket has cooled down, warm it on the stovetop or in the oven, while lightly toasting the burger buns.
- Assemble the sandwiches by placing a generous portion of the brisket on the bottom half of each toasted bun. Top with coleslaw, pickle slices, and raw onions, then drizzle with additional BBQ sauce if desired. Cover with the top half of the bun.
Notes
