Description

A cheesy and spicy casserole that combines the flavors of jalapeño poppers in a delicious, easy-to-make dish.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese, divided
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese, divided
  • 4 oz canned diced jalapeños, drained
  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • ½ tsp paprika
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • ¼ cup chopped green onions

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Cook the ground beef in a skillet over medium heat until fully browned, breaking it up as it cooks. Drain excess fat and set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, mayonnaise, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Stir until smooth and well blended.
  4. Fold in the diced jalapeños along with half of the shredded cheddar and half of the mozzarella until evenly distributed.
  5. Add the cooked ground beef to the cheese mixture and stir until everything is fully coated and uniform.
  6. Spread the mixture evenly into the prepared baking dish, smoothing the top with a spatula.
  7. Sprinkle the remaining cheddar and mozzarella over the casserole. Bake uncovered for 25–30 minutes, until the cheese is melted, bubbly, and lightly golden.
  8. Let the casserole rest for 5 minutes before slicing. Garnish with chopped green onions and serve warm.

Notes

For a milder flavor, remove the seeds from the jalapeños. Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days.
