This Jalapeño Cheddar Dutch Oven Bread is full of flavor with a crunchy crust and soft, cheesy interior, perfect as a side for soups or snacks.

- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
- 1–2 jalapeños, diced (seeds removed for less heat)
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon instant yeast
- 1 cup warm water
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine the flour, salt, and yeast. Mix well.
- Add the warm water, diced jalapeños, and shredded cheddar cheese. Stir until a shaggy dough forms.
- Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and let it rest at room temperature for 12-18 hours.
- Preheat your Dutch oven to 450°F (230°C) for 30 minutes.
- Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and shape it lightly into a ball.
- Carefully place the dough into the preheated Dutch oven.
- Cover and bake for 30 minutes. Remove the lid and bake for an additional 15 minutes or until golden brown.
- Let the bread cool before slicing.
Notes
Allow the dough to rest for the full 12-18 hours to develop flavor.
