- 12 oz bow tie pasta (farfalle)
- 1 lb Italian sausage (mild or spicy)
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh basil or parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Cook the bow tie pasta according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and garlic, sautéing until fragrant.
- Add the Italian sausage to the skillet and cook until browned.
- Stir in the diced tomatoes, heavy cream, salt, and pepper. Let simmer for about 5 minutes.
- Add the cooked pasta to the skillet and toss to combine.
- Serve with grated Parmesan cheese and garnish with fresh basil or parsley.
Notes
Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days. Can be frozen for up to 1 month.
