Description
A delightful dish combining tender Cajun steak tips with creamy cheesy rigatoni, perfect for comfort food lovers.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb sirloin steak, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 2 tablespoons Cajun seasoning
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 12 oz rigatoni pasta
- 2 cups shredded cheese (cheddar and mozzarella mix)
- 1 cup milk
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt, to taste
- Fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Start by cooking the rigatoni according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- Toss the steak pieces with Cajun seasoning in a medium bowl, making sure they are well coated.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the seasoned steak tips and cook until browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
- Prepare the cheese sauce in the same skillet. Melt the butter over medium heat, then add flour. Stir for about a minute, then gradually add milk, whisking continuously until smooth.
- Add garlic powder and salt, then slowly stir in the shredded cheese until melted and creamy.
- Combine the rigatoni with the cheese sauce and mix well. Add the cooked steak tips on top and gently combine.
- Serve hot, garnishing with fresh parsley.
Notes
Avoid overcooking the steak to prevent toughness. Use plenty of cheese for a rich sauce. Add extra Cajun seasoning for more heat if desired.
