Description

A delightful dish combining tender Cajun steak tips with creamy cheesy rigatoni, perfect for comfort food lovers.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb sirloin steak, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 2 tablespoons Cajun seasoning
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 12 oz rigatoni pasta
  • 2 cups shredded cheese (cheddar and mozzarella mix)
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt, to taste
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Start by cooking the rigatoni according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. Toss the steak pieces with Cajun seasoning in a medium bowl, making sure they are well coated.
  3. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the seasoned steak tips and cook until browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
  4. Prepare the cheese sauce in the same skillet. Melt the butter over medium heat, then add flour. Stir for about a minute, then gradually add milk, whisking continuously until smooth.
  5. Add garlic powder and salt, then slowly stir in the shredded cheese until melted and creamy.
  6. Combine the rigatoni with the cheese sauce and mix well. Add the cooked steak tips on top and gently combine.
  7. Serve hot, garnishing with fresh parsley.

Notes

Avoid overcooking the steak to prevent toughness. Use plenty of cheese for a rich sauce. Add extra Cajun seasoning for more heat if desired.
