Description

Ingredients

  • 1 pound beef (sirloin or flank steak)
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 8 ounces egg noodles
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 8 ounces mushrooms, sliced

Instructions

  1. Slice the beef into thin strips and chop the onions, mushrooms, and garlic.
  2. Bring water to a boil in a large pot. Add a pinch of salt and the egg noodles; cook until al dente, then drain.
  3. Melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add onions and cook until translucent, about 3-4 minutes. Add garlic and mushrooms, and sauté for another 5 minutes.
  4. Brown the beef in the skillet for about 5-7 minutes.
  5. Reduce heat to medium, add beef broth and let simmer. Stir in sour cream until creamy.
  6. Add egg noodles to the skillet, tossing to coat well.
  7. Serve plated, garnished with fresh parsley if desired.

Notes

Don’t overcook the beef to keep it tender and ensure mushrooms are well sautéed for the best flavor.
