A delicious and nostalgic snack featuring a crispy exterior and sweet, creamy interior.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 slices white bread
- 1 tbsp peanut butter or kaya (or your fave spread)
- 1 egg
- 2 tbsp milk
- Butter/oil for frying
- Sweetened condensed milk (for topping)
- 1 small pat of butter (for garnish)
Instructions
- Make a Sandwich: Take the two slices of white bread and spread a tablespoon of peanut butter or kaya on one slice. Top it with the other slice to make a sandwich.
- Prepare the Egg Mixture: In a bowl, beat one egg and add two tablespoons of milk. Mix well until combined.
- Dip the Sandwich: Carefully dip the sandwich into the egg mixture. Ensure that both sides are well coated.
- Fry: Heat some butter or oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Once hot, gently place the sandwich in the pan. Fry until golden brown on one side, then flip it over to fry the other side.
- Serve: Once both sides are crispy and golden, remove the sandwich from the pan. Place it on a plate, top with a small pat of butter, and drizzle sweetened condensed milk over it.
- Enjoy: Serve hot and enjoy the creamy, crunchy delight!
Notes
Avoid soaking the bread too long to prevent sogginess and use medium heat for frying.
