Description
A quick and delicious dish featuring crispy chicken coated in a sweet and savory honey garlic sauce.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb chicken breast, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup cornstarch
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1 cup vegetable oil (for frying)
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp ginger, minced
- 1 tbsp sesame seeds (optional)
- Green onions, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix the flour, cornstarch, salt, and pepper. Coat the chicken pieces in this mixture to ensure they have a nice crispy texture when fried.
- Heat the vegetable oil in a pan over medium heat. Once hot, fry the chicken until it’s golden brown and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes. After frying, remove the chicken and drain it on paper towels to absorb excess oil.
- In another pan, combine honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, and ginger over medium heat. Let this mixture simmer for 2-3 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.
- Add the fried chicken to the honey garlic sauce and toss to coat the chicken evenly.
- Serve hot, garnished with sesame seeds and chopped green onions for an added crunch and fresh flavor.
Notes
For a gluten-free version, substitute all-purpose flour with a gluten-free flour blend and use gluten-free soy sauce.
