Description

A delightful homemade toffee recipe that combines butter, sugar, and nuts for a rich and flavorful treat.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 1 cup milk chocolate chips
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, combine the butter, sugar, and water over medium heat. Stir continuously until the mixture comes to a boil.
  2. Allow it to boil without stirring until it reaches 300°F (hard crack stage) on a candy thermometer.
  3. Remove from heat and quickly stir in the vanilla and salt.
  4. Pour the toffee mixture onto a greased baking sheet and spread it out evenly.
  5. Sprinkle the chopped pecans over the top and gently press them into the toffee.
  6. Melt the chocolate chips in a microwave or double boiler and pour them over the toffee, spreading it evenly.
  7. Allow the toffee to cool completely before breaking it into pieces.
  8. Package the toffee for gifting or enjoy it yourself!

Notes

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to two weeks. Wrap in cellophane for gifts.
