Description

Delightful homemade strawberry cinnamon rolls filled with juicy strawberries and warm cinnamon, perfect for breakfast or brunch.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
  • 1 tablespoon milk (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together the buttermilk, melted butter, and egg until smooth.
  4. Combine the wet ingredients with the dry ingredients and stir until just mixed. Be careful not to overmix.
  5. Roll out the dough on a floured surface into a rectangle about 1/2 inch thick.
  6. Spread the chopped strawberries evenly over the dough, and sprinkle the ground cinnamon on top.
  7. Carefully roll the dough tightly into a log, starting from one of the long sides.
  8. Cut the rolled dough into 12 equal pieces.
  9. Place the rolls in a greased baking dish, ensuring they are close but not touching.
  10. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until the rolls are golden brown and a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  11. For the glaze, mix the powdered sugar and milk in a small bowl until smooth.
  12. Drizzle the glaze over the warm rolls and serve immediately.

Notes

For best results, avoid overmixing the dough and use fresh strawberries for maximum flavor.
