- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 4 cups powdered sugar
- 2 cups chocolate chips
- 1 tablespoon vegetable shortening
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine peanut butter and softened butter until smooth.
- Gradually add powdered sugar to the mix and stir until fully combined.
- Roll the mixture into small balls and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Freeze the balls for about 30 minutes until firm.
- In a double boiler, melt chocolate chips and vegetable shortening until smooth.
- Dip each peanut butter ball into the melted chocolate, covering it completely.
- Place the coated balls back on the parchment paper and let them set until the chocolate hardens.
- Store in the refrigerator and enjoy your homemade Buckeyes!
