- 1 pound chicken thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, minced
- 1/2 cup bourbon
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons water
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Cooked white rice or zoodles for serving
Instructions
- Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add the chicken pieces and cook until browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes.
- Stir in the minced garlic and ginger, cooking for another minute until fragrant.
- In a small bowl, mix the bourbon, soy sauce, brown sugar, and rice vinegar. Pour this sauce over the chicken.
- In another bowl, combine cornstarch and water until smooth, then stir into the chicken mixture.
- Bring to a simmer and cook until the sauce thickens, about 5 minutes.
- Season with salt and pepper.
- Serve hot over cooked white rice or zoodles.
Notes
Adjust the sweetness of the sauce by modifying the amount of brown sugar based on taste preference.
