Description

Delightful and festive soft sugar cookies coated in powdered sugar and colorful sprinkles.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • Powdered sugar for rolling
  • Festive red and green sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until smooth and fluffy.
  3. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add this dry mixture to the butter mixture and stir until well combined.
  5. Roll the dough into small balls and coat each ball in powdered sugar.
  6. Arrange the dough balls on a baking sheet, leaving space between each cookie.
  7. Bake for about 10-12 minutes, or until edges are slightly golden.
  8. Roll hot cookies in more powdered sugar and sprinkle with festive sprinkles.
  9. Allow to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

For best results, do not overmix the dough and ensure fresh ingredients are used.
