- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 egg
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- Powdered sugar for rolling
- Festive red and green sprinkles
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until smooth and fluffy.
- Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add this dry mixture to the butter mixture and stir until well combined.
- Roll the dough into small balls and coat each ball in powdered sugar.
- Arrange the dough balls on a baking sheet, leaving space between each cookie.
- Bake for about 10-12 minutes, or until edges are slightly golden.
- Roll hot cookies in more powdered sugar and sprinkle with festive sprinkles.
- Allow to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
Notes
For best results, do not overmix the dough and ensure fresh ingredients are used.
