Description

A comforting casserole combining ground beef, potatoes, creamy mushroom soup, and cheddar cheese, perfect for busy weeknights.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper
  • 4 medium potatoes, thinly sliced
  • 10.5 ounces cream of mushroom soup
  • 0.5 cup milk
  • 1.5 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 0.5 teaspoon paprika (optional, for garnish)
  • 1 tablespoon butter, melted

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish to prevent sticking.
  2. In a large skillet, cook the ground beef and chopped onion over medium heat until browned; drain the grease.
  3. Season the beef with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper; mix well.
  4. Layer half of the sliced potatoes in the baking dish, then add half of the beef mixture. Repeat with remaining potatoes and beef.
  5. In a bowl, mix cream of mushroom soup with milk; pour over the layers in the baking dish.
  6. Top with shredded cheddar cheese and drizzle with melted butter.
  7. Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes.
  8. Uncover and bake for an additional 15 minutes until bubbly and golden.
  9. Allow to rest for 10 minutes before serving; garnish as desired.

Notes

This casserole can be made a day ahead of time. Store it in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 2 months.
