Description

A hearty and satisfying one-pan meal combining ground beef, potatoes, and cheese, perfect for busy weeknights.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 45 medium potatoes, thinly sliced
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 cup beef broth or water
  • 1/4 cup milk (optional, for creaminess)
  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with cooking spray or olive oil.
  2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the ground beef and cook until browned (about 5-7 minutes), then drain any excess fat.
  3. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet, cooking until the onion is soft (about 3-4 minutes).
  4. Spread the cooked beef mixture evenly in the baking dish.
  5. Layer the thinly sliced potatoes on top, seasoning with salt, pepper, Italian seasoning, and paprika.
  6. Sprinkle the shredded cheddar and grated Parmesan cheeses over the beef and potatoes.
  7. Pour beef broth or water around the edges of the dish. Drizzle milk over the top if desired.
  8. Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender and cheese is bubbly.
  9. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.

Notes

For added nutrition, serve with a green salad or steamed vegetables. You can also modify the recipe by adding your favorite vegetables or using different types of cheese.
