Description

A classic comfort food dish combining layers of ground beef, potatoes, and cheese, perfect for a filling meal.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 4 medium potatoes, thinly sliced
  • 1 can (10.5 ounces) cream of mushroom soup
  • ½ cup milk
  • 1 ½ cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • ½ teaspoon paprika (optional, for garnish)
  • 1 tablespoon butter, melted

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a skillet, brown the ground beef and chopped onions over medium heat until the beef is cooked through and the onions are tender.
  3. Add garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper to the skillet. Stir well to combine all the ingredients.
  4. In a greased baking dish, layer half of the thinly sliced potatoes at the bottom.
  5. Spread half of the beef mixture evenly over the potatoes.
  6. In a separate bowl, combine the cream of mushroom soup and milk. Pour half of this mixture over the beef layer.
  7. Repeat the layering process with the remaining potatoes, beef, and soup mixture.
  8. Top the final layer with shredded cheddar cheese and drizzle melted butter over everything.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender and the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  10. If desired, garnish with paprika before serving.
