- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- 4 medium potatoes, thinly sliced
- 1 can (10.5 ounces) cream of mushroom soup
- ½ cup milk
- 1 ½ cups shredded cheddar cheese
- ½ teaspoon paprika (optional, for garnish)
- 1 tablespoon butter, melted
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a skillet, brown the ground beef and chopped onions over medium heat until the beef is cooked through and the onions are tender.
- Add garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper to the skillet. Stir well to combine all the ingredients.
- In a greased baking dish, layer half of the thinly sliced potatoes at the bottom.
- Spread half of the beef mixture evenly over the potatoes.
- In a separate bowl, combine the cream of mushroom soup and milk. Pour half of this mixture over the beef layer.
- Repeat the layering process with the remaining potatoes, beef, and soup mixture.
- Top the final layer with shredded cheddar cheese and drizzle melted butter over everything.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender and the cheese is bubbly and golden.
- If desired, garnish with paprika before serving.
