Description

A delightful combination of savory and sweet flavors, this dish features juicy honey garlic butter chicken paired with creamy mac & cheese, perfect for family dinners.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 chicken breasts (boneless and skinless)
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 4 cloves garlic (minced)
  • Salt and pepper (to taste)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Fresh parsley (for garnishing)
  • 8 oz elbow macaroni
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups milk
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Salt and pepper (to taste)
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika (optional)

Instructions

  1. Start by seasoning the chicken breasts with salt and pepper.
  2. In a large pan, heat olive oil over medium-high heat.
  3. Add the chicken breasts and cook for 5-7 minutes on each side or until they are golden brown and fully cooked. Remove the chicken from the pan and set aside.
  4. In the same pan, reduce the heat to medium and add butter.
  5. Once melted, add minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  6. Stir in honey and soy sauce, and let it simmer for about 2-3 minutes until it thickens a bit.
  7. Return the chicken to the pan and coat it well with the sauce. Let it cook for an additional 2 minutes.
  8. In a large pot, boil water and cook elbow macaroni according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  9. In the same pot, melt butter over medium heat.
  10. Stir in flour and mix well for about 1 minute.
  11. Gradually whisk in milk, stirring constantly to avoid lumps.
  12. Cook until the sauce thickens, then add cheddar and mozzarella cheese, stirring until melted and smooth.
  13. Mix in cooked elbow macaroni and season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika if desired.
  14. Plate the honey garlic butter chicken alongside a generous scoop of mac & cheese.
  15. Garnish the chicken with fresh parsley before serving.
