- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup cottage cheese
- ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
- ½ cup milk
- 2 tablespoons milk or melted butter (for topping)
- 1 tablespoon extra butter (for brushing)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, cottage cheese, softened butter, honey or maple syrup, baking powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix well.
- Gradually add the milk to the mixture and stir until a dough forms.
- Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead gently for a minute until smooth.
- Roll out the dough to about 1-inch thick and cut out shapes using a biscuit cutter or glass.
- Place the biscuits on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Brush the tops with either milk or melted butter for a golden finish.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
- Remove from oven and brush with extra melted butter. Serve warm.
Notes
For best results, don’t over-knead the dough and ensure to measure flour correctly.
