A comforting and filling bake made with layers of ground beef and potatoes, topped with a creamy mixture and cheese.

- 1 lb ground beef
- 4 medium potatoes, sliced
- 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or your choice)
- 1 cup sour cream or Greek yogurt
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Olive oil
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add chopped onion and sauté until translucent.
- Add garlic and ground beef, cook until browned. Season with paprika, salt, and pepper.
- Layer half of the sliced potatoes in a greased baking dish.
- Spread half of the ground beef mixture over the potatoes.
- Repeat with the remaining potatoes and beef.
- Mix sour cream (or Greek yogurt) with a bit of salt and pepper, then spread it over the top layer.
- Sprinkle shredded cheese on top.
- Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes.
- Remove foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
- Let it cool slightly before serving.
Notes
Don’t skip the browning: Make sure to cook the ground beef until it’s well-browned. Adjust seasoning to taste.
