Description
A quick and nutritious stir-fry featuring tender chicken and crisp bok choy, perfect for busy weeknights.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb (450 g) boneless chicken breast, sliced thinly
- 2 cups bok choy, chopped
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon oyster sauce (optional)
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon ginger, minced
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Cooked rice or noodles for serving (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare the Ingredients: Start by washing the bok choy thoroughly. Chop it into bite-sized pieces. Slice the chicken breast thinly for even cooking.
- Marinate Chicken: In a bowl, mix the sliced chicken with soy sauce, oyster sauce (if using), salt, and pepper. Let it marinate for about 15 minutes.
- Heat Oil: In a large skillet or wok, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat.
- Cook Chicken: Add the marinated chicken to the skillet. Stir-fry for about 5-7 minutes or until the chicken is golden and cooked through.
- Add Flavors: Toss in the minced garlic and ginger. Stir-fry for another 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
- Add Bok Choy: Add the chopped bok choy to the skillet. Stir well and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes, until the bok choy is vibrant and slightly wilted.
- Finish up: Drizzle sesame oil over the stir-fry for an extra layer of flavor. Mix it well and taste for seasoning.
- Serve: Serve your healthy bok choy chicken hot over cooked rice or noodles, if desired.
Notes
Ensure not to overcook the chicken to keep it tender. Feel free to add your favorite vegetables for more nutrition.
