Description

Delicious, guilt-free dessert bites that replicate traditional churros using healthier ingredients and an air fryer for a light and crispy texture.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup almond flour
  • 2 tablespoons coconut flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 2 tablespoons sweetener (like erythritol)
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened applesauce
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened almond milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Cinnamon sugar (for coating)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the air fryer to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix almond flour, coconut flour, baking powder, and salt until well combined.
  3. In another bowl, combine the applesauce, almond milk, sweetener, and vanilla extract. Mix these wet ingredients well until smooth.
  4. Slowly add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until a dough forms.
  5. Scoop small amounts of dough and roll them into bite-sized balls.
  6. Place the dough balls in the air fryer basket, ensuring they have space between them.
  7. Cook in the air fryer for about 8-10 minutes or until golden brown.
  8. While still warm, roll the churro bites in cinnamon sugar to coat evenly.
  9. Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days, or refrigerate for up to a week. They can also be frozen for up to three months.
