Delicious and comforting ham and biscuit sandwiches with flaky biscuits, savory ham, and melted cheddar cheese, perfect for any meal.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup cold butter, diced
- 3/4 cup milk
- 8 ounces sliced ham
- 4 ounces cheddar cheese, sliced
- Optional: mustard or mayonnaise for spreading
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
- In a large bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Add the diced butter to the flour mixture. Use a pastry cutter or your fingers to blend until the mix resembles coarse crumbs.
- Stir in the milk just until the dough comes together. Don’t overmix!
- Turn the dough out onto a floured surface. Gently knead it a few times and then roll it out to about 1-inch thickness.
- Cut out biscuits using a round cutter or a glass. Place the biscuits on the baking sheet, about an inch apart.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown.
- Let the biscuits cool for a few minutes. Then, slice each biscuit in half.
- Layer sliced ham and cheese onto the bottom half of each biscuit. Spread mustard or mayonnaise if you like before placing the top half of the biscuit back on.
- Serve warm and enjoy your delicious ham and cheese biscuit sandwiches!
Notes
