Description

A fun and spooky twist on a classic appetizer, perfect for Halloween gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 large eggs
  • 3 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon mustard
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Black olives for decoration
  • Red and yellow food coloring for a spooky touch

Instructions

  1. Boil the eggs by placing them in a pot of cold water. Bring the water to a boil, then turn off the heat. Cover the pot and let it sit for about 12 minutes.
  2. Transfer the eggs to a bowl of ice water to cool them down quickly.
  3. Peel the eggs and cut them in half lengthwise.
  4. Remove the yolks and place them in a mixing bowl. Mash the yolks with a fork.
  5. Add mayonnaise, mustard, salt, and pepper to the yolks and mix until smooth.
  6. For a Halloween twist, add a few drops of red and yellow food coloring to the mixture for an eerie orange look.
  7. Spoon the yolk mixture back into the egg whites.
  8. Cut the black olives into slivers and place them on top as “eyes” for a spooky effect.

Notes

Store the deviled eggs tightly covered in plastic wrap in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. They can be made a day in advance.
