- 1 Tbsp sesame oil
- 2–3 garlic cloves (minced)
- 2 tsp grated ginger
- ½ tsp smoked paprika
- ½ tsp onion powder
- 3 Tbsp soy sauce (low sodium)
- 1–2 Tbsp sriracha
- 2–3 Tbsp chicken broth
- 2 tsp honey
- ½ tsp black pepper
- ½ tsp sea salt
- 2 tsp corn starch
- ½ cup mayonnaise
- 3 Tbsp sweet chili sauce
- ½–1 Tbsp sriracha
- 1 tsp rice vinegar
- 2 tsp honey
- Rice (your choice of variety)
- Shredded carrots
- Sliced cucumbers
- Shelled edamame
- Pickled onions
- Avocado
- Shredded cabbage
- Sliced green onion
- Sesame seeds
Instructions
- Prep Bang Bang Sauce: In a small bowl, mix mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, sriracha, rice vinegar, and honey. Whisk until well combined and chill in the refrigerator.
- Prepare the Ground Turkey Mixture: Heat sesame oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add ground turkey and cook, breaking it into pieces, until browned and reaches 165°F.
- Add Seasonings: Reduce heat to medium-low. Add garlic, ginger, smoked paprika, onion powder, soy sauce, sriracha, chicken broth, honey, black pepper, and sea salt. Stir and let simmer for 2-3 minutes.
- Thicken the Mixture: Sprinkle corn starch over mixture and stir to combine for a hearty texture.
- Optional Add-In: Stir 2 tablespoons of chilled bang bang sauce into the meat for extra flavor if desired.
- Assemble Rice Bowls: Start with a base of rice in each bowl. Top with ground turkey mixture and load with favorite veggies. Drizzle with bang bang sauce and garnish with green onions and sesame seeds.
Notes
Allow for customization with any vegetables on hand. Fresh ingredients improve flavor and texture. Adjust spice levels in the bang bang sauce as per preference.
