Description

A comforting and quick-to-prepare dish featuring ground beef, creamy sauce, and tender mushrooms, perfect for busy weeknights.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 8 oz mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Egg noodles or rice, for serving

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat, breaking it apart as it cooks.
  2. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, cooking until the onion becomes translucent.
  3. Stir in the sliced mushrooms and cook until they are tender, about 5 minutes.
  4. Sprinkle flour over the mixture and stir to combine evenly.
  5. Gradually add the beef broth, stirring continuously until the sauce thickens, about 5-7 minutes.
  6. Lower the heat and mix in the Worcestershire sauce and sour cream, stirring until fully incorporated.
  7. Season with salt and pepper to taste, adjusting as needed.
  8. Serve the creamy stroganoff over cooked egg noodles or rice.

Notes

Add fresh spinach for extra nutrition or use Greek yogurt as a substitute for sour cream.
