Description
Delicious and easy-to-make Ground Beef Philly Cheesesteaks featuring sautéed vegetables and melted cheese in a soft hoagie roll.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 medium onion, thinly sliced
- 1 medium green bell pepper, thinly sliced
- 1 cup mushrooms, sliced (optional)
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- Salt, to taste
- Black pepper, to taste
- 4 slices provolone cheese (or any cheese of your preference)
- 4 hoagie rolls
- Olive oil, for cooking
Instructions
- Gather all your ingredients to make the cooking process smoother.
- Add a drizzle of olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat, then add sliced onions and bell peppers. Sauté for 3-5 minutes until tender. If using, add mushrooms and cook for an additional 3 minutes.
- Push the vegetables to the side of the skillet and add the ground beef. Cook until no longer pink, about 5-7 minutes.
- Stir in garlic powder, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper, mixing everything together for about 2 minutes.
- Reduce heat to low, place a slice of cheese over the beef mixture, cover the skillet with a lid, and let the cheese melt for about 2-3 minutes.
- While the cheese is melting, slice the hoagie rolls lengthwise without cutting all the way through.
- Spoon the beef and vegetable mixture into each roll and serve hot. Optionally, toast the rolls for added texture before serving.
